How CIA, French Intelligence Agency Conspired to Assassinate Thomas Sankara

On April 6, 2022, Burkina Faso’s ex-President Blaise Compaorรฉ was tried, convicted and sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment for murder. It  took 35 years for justice to catch up with him for murdering his revolutionary socialist predecessor, Thomas Sankara (the “Che Guevara of Africa”), in a 1987 right-wing military coup.  How  long will justice take to catch up with the CIA and its French intelligence counterpart, the Direction gรฉnรฉrale de la sรฉcuritรฉ extรฉrieure (DGSE), for what appears to have been their part in masterminding or enabling the plot that overthrew and killed Sankara? As young military officers in Burkina Faso during the 1970s and 1980s, Thomas Sankara and Blaise Compaorรฉ were the best of friends. The two traveled the country playing in a musical band together and Sankara’s parents adopted Compaorรฉ as his parents had died when he was young. Bring it on! Moses Kuria Dares Uhuru as the Hustlers Vs Dynasties Supremacy Battle Rages on

Controversial and unequivocal MP Moses Kuria has challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to dare stop him from being re-elected in Gatundu South constituency come 2022 General Election.

By Ndung'u Wa Gathua.

In what could prove to be yet another fiercely fought battlefront between the so-called hustlers and the elitist ruling dynasties, Kuria has explicitly stated his tactical readiness to tackle Uhuru head-on in an effort to retain the Gatundu South constituency seat and which the President served as its MP between 2002 and 2013.

"At the BBI retreat at the Great Rift Valley Lodge today, I have no idea how I became a subject of discussion to the point of someone saying he will ensure I do not get re-elected since hiyo kiti iko na mwenyewe. In God I trust. This far He has brought me. Twende Kazi," Kuria wrote on Facebook, Monday.

Political commentator Collins Wanderi reacting to Kuria's post, seemed to affirm Uhuru's dislike for the outspoken second-term legislator.

"Hon. Moses Kuria , your constituent Numero Uno has publicly and loudly complained that you are not representing him well. There might be many others with a similar opinion. This is the conversation you should be having with yourself," Wanderi, a staunch defender of Uhuru wrote.

'Numero uno' is an Italian phrase which simply means 'number one'.

Kuria a fierce critic of the President and DP William Ruto's ardent supporter, has in the past endeared himself to Kikuyu electorates  through his populist anti-Raila Odinga rhetoric and more recently, his opposition for the frivolous UhuRaila handshake and the resultant BBI.

It is an open secret within Kenya's corridors of power that Kuria is not the first family's favourite in Gatundu South with rife rumours that it has over time tried to nip his flourishing political bud behind the scenes, albeit unsuccessfully.

As it stands now, Kuria's liberal and anti-establishment politics now being championed by DP Ruto, have literally left him standing on Uhuru's firing line as he tries to resuscitate his dwindling political fortunes in the wider Mt Kenya region where his BBI pet project has widely been dismissed as "total bullshit" aimed at enshrining autocracy and keeping the country's political dynasties in power.
