How CIA, French Intelligence Agency Conspired to Assassinate Thomas Sankara

On April 6, 2022, Burkina Faso’s ex-President Blaise Compaorรฉ was tried, convicted and sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment for murder. It  took 35 years for justice to catch up with him for murdering his revolutionary socialist predecessor, Thomas Sankara (the “Che Guevara of Africa”), in a 1987 right-wing military coup.  How  long will justice take to catch up with the CIA and its French intelligence counterpart, the Direction gรฉnรฉrale de la sรฉcuritรฉ extรฉrieure (DGSE), for what appears to have been their part in masterminding or enabling the plot that overthrew and killed Sankara? As young military officers in Burkina Faso during the 1970s and 1980s, Thomas Sankara and Blaise Compaorรฉ were the best of friends. The two traveled the country playing in a musical band together and Sankara’s parents adopted Compaorรฉ as his parents had died when he was young. Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has taken a U-turn and congratulated President Uhuru Kenyatta  after the Launch for the BBI Collection Exercise was put off.

According to a letter signed by the BBI secretariat Chairmen Denis Waweru and Junet Mohammed the launch has been postponed to a later date to be communicated in due course citing late completion and publication of the final Constitutional amendment Bill as the reason.

"The postponement has been necessitated by late completion and publication of The Constitution Amendment Bill 2020 which is scheduled for printing later tonight. The secretariat is working on a new date with a comprehensive programme of rollout activities which will be communicated in due course," Reads part of the Statement.

An excited Murkomen took the opportunity to thank the President for bowing down to the pressure for calls to bring everybody on board in the BBI proposals. The Elgeyo Marakwet says that the President is now getting to the " good man he knew' asking everyone to engage in a Win-win debate in discussing the BBI agenda.

"I congratulate President Kenyatta for against all odds/pressure postponing the BBI Signatures launch to provide room for consensus. This is the President I knew. Let’s now have meaningful engagement for Win-Win RESULT. We only have one Kenya let’s listen to all voices" Reads Murkomen's Wednesday Evening Tweet.

The postponement comes after reports that on Wednesday President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto had a closed door meeting where the BBI proposals agenda took center stage in their 3 hour meeting.

Ruto has been on the forefront calling for inclusivity in the BBI Agenda blaming the BBI protagonists for claiming to build bridges while building walls for consensus.

"It is a contradiction to want to amend the Constitution while refusing to amend a mere report (BBI). Its defeatist to build walls to shut others out while purporting to build bridges." The Dp is on record putty into task the BBI protagonists and the latest developments might have opened the doors for the Dp and his lieutenants.
