How CIA, French Intelligence Agency Conspired to Assassinate Thomas Sankara

On April 6, 2022, Burkina Faso’s ex-President Blaise Compaorรฉ was tried, convicted and sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment for murder. It  took 35 years for justice to catch up with him for murdering his revolutionary socialist predecessor, Thomas Sankara (the “Che Guevara of Africa”), in a 1987 right-wing military coup.  How  long will justice take to catch up with the CIA and its French intelligence counterpart, the Direction gรฉnรฉrale de la sรฉcuritรฉ extรฉrieure (DGSE), for what appears to have been their part in masterminding or enabling the plot that overthrew and killed Sankara? As young military officers in Burkina Faso during the 1970s and 1980s, Thomas Sankara and Blaise Compaorรฉ were the best of friends. Former Laikipia North Legislature Mathew Lempurkel has for many years been surrounded by scandals.

In the recent past, he made headlines after being accused of entering a squabble with Sara Korere at Harambee House where the President's offices are located.

If nothing else, the lawmaker has in the past been linked to several altercations that went down in public spaces.

In 2014, he was thrown out of an airplane after assaulting the cabin crew. It is reported that the incident happened during a tour by legislatures that saw him break glasses.

It is claimed that the former Laikipia North lawmaker pushed for a squabble after being served wine despite demanding beer. The altercation would later on make him miss the trip to Europe.

A few days later, the abrasive ex-MP exposed his rowdy facet again when he roughed up Laikipia Woman Representative Jane Apollos while attempting to seize a microphone.

Once he had the microphone, Lempurkel complained of being left out of the Europe trip.

The late Joyce Laboso alongside other women leaders watched in wonder as the irritated ex-MP aired his complains.

It can be argued that in 2015, however, Lempurkel felt the pain of the public wrath when they pounced on him and held him hostage for close to two days.
